How to organise the perfect kids party?

We are all parents at Uptown and know how daunting but also how fun it is to organise a party for your little one. We all want to see the excitement on their faces and want to make all their expectations come through. Since we have all the equipment at Uptown and have worked with some of the best event planners in the industry we know what it takes to organise the perfect kids party and we would like to share our secrets with you!

How to choose a location for your party?
Depending on the time of the year and your budget you can go for an indoor or outdoor party, rent a venue, use a public location or host the party at your own or a friend’s place. We have had some of the best kid parties in public places since there is plenty of room for kids to run around and you can theme it exactly how you desire. Also think about how easy the parking is, public toilets and your house stays nice and clean while your little one has the time of his/her life!

How to choose a theme for your party? 
Before getting your birthday boy or girl involved in which theme you consider.
Which themes do you think he or she might like and consider how well they would work in the venue you've chosen. Pirate Parties for example are great for events at the beach and country style parties are great in parks or private properties. Circus parties and under the sea themes work at any venue and little mermaid parties are great when there is a pool!

How to make a guest list for your party?
Before giving your kids the free hand in picking and choosing a list of kids they want to invite there are a few things to consider. The venue might only be able to fit an x amount of people, parking could be an issue and budget is also a key factor. Beside that keep in mind that kids come with parents (although drop offs can be an option for older kids). Also, if you are happy to host for siblings.  Once you have worked this out consider if you want to let your child invite only their friends, or also relatives and even the whole class, day care group or a sports team.

How to cater for your party?
Depending on the time of the day you are hosting the party you will have to think about how you are going to cater for all your guests. Staying with the theme is the cherry on the cake, whether you are baking, cooking and prepping yourself or going with a professional.

How to arrange the equipment for your party?
Which equipment you are going to need depends very much on the venue, numbers of guests and the theme for your party.
