Australia Day January 26th, a day to celebrate the countries achievements & diversity.
The anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the first fleets from Britain at Port Jackson and there are many ways to celebrate.

Traditional celebrations include BBQ’s, games, ice cold beers, friends and good tunes, when planning your day you need to consider a few things, location, number of people attending, entertainment/games, catering and budget.

If you are planning a garden party at your house you will want to make sure to trim the lawns or be getting someone in to do it for you, as another option you could go to the local park or beach but be mindful of all the other Aussie day revellers doing the same.
For pool Party’s you will want to grab the net and get all those leaves out of the pool and get some inflatable pool toys, or hit the beach but be mindful of using inflatables at the beach you don’t want to get swept out with a long swim back.

For party's going into the evening/night you will want to ensure you have enough lighting, festoons and fairy lights look great in any outdoor area, you could also use a few par 38's to uplight the trees in your area.
You might also want to bring in a few extra bins to make clean up that bit quicker

When considering the number of guest's to invite give some thought to all the work you will need to do on the day and the clean up after, you want some time to enjoy the celebrations yourself.

Some great games for the day will be thong toss, Egg & spoon race, slip & slide to beat the heat and the obvious backyard cricket.

You can’t beat the great Aussie BBQ for Australia day, you could even ask each guest to bring a dish to save on costs and prep time or as another great option you could do a spit roast, everyone loves a spit roast!
You will need to consider if you want everyone seated for eating, you may need extra chairs and tables, plates, cutlery and glassware.

So now you have the basics covered all that’s left to do is chill the beers and choose some tunes to crank out on the speakers and PARTY!

Don’t forget to throw on some Australia Day gear for the festivities!
